INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC)
POLICY & FUNCTION
Introduction
As part of the fulfilment of the National Action Plan of the National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, for performance evaluation, assessment and
accreditation and quality up-gradation of institutions of higher education, the NAAC
proposes that every accredited institution establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell
(IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. The IQAC of the College was
established in 2012. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will
become a part of an institution's system and channelize the efforts and measures towards
realizing the goals of quality education enhancement and sustenance.
Policy Statement
The primary Policy and task of the IQAC is to pursue and develop a system for conscious,
consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of the institution through quality
teaching – learning, evaluation process and remain committed to enlightening young minds
through quality education and to hold ourselves accountable to our stakeholders, through a
well embedded process of self-evaluation and continuous improvement.
Functions:
- To facilitate the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality
education and faculty development to adopt the required knowledge and technology
for participatory teaching and learning process
- To develop and apply quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and
administrative activities of the institution.
- Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to
NAAC based on the quality parameters
- Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education.
- Organization of workshops, seminars on quality related themes, and promotion of
social and cultural values.
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement.
- Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching, learning, and
evaluation.
- To ensure the adequacy, maintenance, and functioning of the support structure.
- To obtain feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on
quality-related institutional processes.
